SUMMARY:

In the past decades, the process of development has involved serious concerns that reach beyond economic growth. There has emerged a need for strategies that take into account a fair relationship between natural environment and economy. In this new scenario, the theme of development has its precepts widespread as the central focus in diverse legal diplomas, such as the Federal Constitution, and in international discussions on sustainability, such as the Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SGD). Thus, the opening of economic horizons has been encouraged, disrupting preexistent dogmas, that traditionally stimulate frenetic production and consumption of goods and services. Therefore, the general objective of the present work is to approach an ascending genre of consumption, the conscious consumption, from the perspective of new business models in the fashion sector, through collaborative or sharing economy. Approaching the fashion industry is justified because, aside from being the second most pollutant industrial sector in the world, the issues presented by this industry have specificities that show off as paradigms able to disrupt traditional development precepts, that are in imminent disuse, thereby achieving the SGD, in particular the 9.4, which is referential to the theme. The structure of this study starts from the premises that will show just how aligned it is to the global scenario, being relevant for a better understanding of the impact of fashion consumption in the environment, of the need to reindustrialize the sector, and of the benefits arising from innovations that collaborative economy can bring to business models. Therefore, it is shown that shared economy, sharing economy or collaborative economy shows itself in several forms, but it is based, objectively, on the description of human activities and new forms of work organization aimed at the production of values. Using network technologies, it has been subverting economic markets, redefining industry and modifying consumption practices. In this way, its principles are similar to those of sustainable development, and, along with the idea of conscious consumption and circular economy, it has been positively influencing all society. Furthermore, given the issues, the study questions what future scenarios will arise, based on what is being disseminated by the new models of entrepreneurship in fashion industry that are gaining market space. Thereafter, it is concluded that, in Brazil, fashion industry already has many initiatives that develop inside the principles proposed by the ideas of sustainable development, conscious consumption and sharing economy, most of which are driven by the orbit of the system that best suits the reality of the people. Finally, we note the outlines of the topic at hand on the current pandemic scenario, its effects on the economic market of goods and services and the dichotomy of sharing and social isolation practices. To attain the desired goals, we use a qualitative, exploratory approach, as well as a deductive method, starting from the analysis of legal provisions and bases, as well as institutes, concepts and characteristics correlated to the main objectives of this study. In addition, the theoretical nature of the research is based on dogmatic practices, bibliographic research, academic works, journalistic articles.
