Introduction: Considering that creatine can interfere in several aspects of bone metabolism, it has been questioned whether this substance can influence orthodontic musculature, since this process depends on bone turnover, with apposition of bone in the alveolar region, where there is tension in the bone. periodontal ligament, and bone resorption on the opposite side, where there is pressure. Objective: To evaluate the effect of creatine on orthodontic movement in rats. Methodology: This is an experimental, in vivo, randomized study, with a descriptive and inferential basis. The sample will be composed of 30 healthy male Wistar rats (Ratus norvegicus albinus), between 7 and 12 weeks of age, which will be protected from continuous orthodontic tooth movement of the first permanent upper molars, on the left side, during a period of 21 days. Rats will be randomly divided into 3 groups: Control group (CG) - Rats represented only to orthodontic movement and daily water intake (n=10); Creatine Experimental Group 1 -(GEC1) - Rats approved for orthodontic transmission and daily dose of 21mg/kg of creatine (n=10) and Creatine Experimental Group 2 (GEC2) - Rats transmitted to orthodontic transmission and daily dose of 51 mg / kg of creatine. The analysis of the amount of orthodontic movement will be performed by performing computerized microtomography. To evaluate root resorption, the TRAP method will be used. For analysis of bone remodeling, morphological analysis will be used using the HE method, immunohistochemistry analysis with OPG and RANK-L markers and histomorphometric analysis.
