SUMMARY:

Introduction: resin sealants have a high success rate in preventing dental caries, but they do not have antibacterial activity, and recurrence is one of the factors that still have a negative impact on people's quality of life. Biomodification with Schinopsis brasiliensis (Braúna) extract may be an alternative to improve its clinical characteristics. Objective: To evaluate the degree of conversion of the Fluroshield® sealant biomodified with the Schinopsis brasiliensis stem extract at different concentrations: 0%, 20%, 10%, 5%, 2.5% and 1.25%. Methodology: 6 experimental sealants with different concentrations of braúna extract will be submitted to the degree of conversion to evaluate the physicochemical viability of the material developed in question. The experimental sealants will be obtained from the mixture of the braúna extract to the fluroshield resin sealant and submitted to analysis by the Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy technique. Statistical analysis will be performed by one-way ANOVA Tukey test (p<0.05).
