SUMMARY:

Endodontic bioactive cements have numerous clinical applications, due to their biological properties, such as: their bioactivity; biocompatibility; ability to induce the repair of periapical lesions, to present absent or reduced inflammatory response, sealing, antimicrobial action, to allow the release of calcium ions and deposition of mineralized tissue. Therefore, it started to be used in dental practice, being indicated to seal perforations, fill retrograde cavities, in endodontic surgeries, pulpotomies, apexification, apical plug and pulp revitalization in teeth with incomplete rhizogenesis, among others. Based on those benefits, this research aimed to develop and characterize low-cost antimicrobially effective endodontic repairing bioactive cements, with the main purpose of being used in the public health service. For this, some formulations containing fine cements, ground slag and cellulose were prepared. These cements were compared with Angelus' repair MTA. It was then divided into four groups: Group 1 (fine gray cement with MZVI ground slag and cellulose); Group 2 (white gray cement, MPW ground slag and cellulose); Group 3 (fine white cement and cellulose) and Group 4 (MTA, Angelus - positive control). The samples of each group were submitted to X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Thermogravimetric Analysis (TG), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Hydrogen Potential (Ph), pycnometry, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) and antibacterial potential against Enterococcus Faecalis through the agar diffusion test. Data analysis will be performed using descriptive statistics.
