SUMMARY:

Oral health teams are among the likely health professionals with a high risk of contamination by the virus that causes COVID-19, since the virus is present in the cells of the tissues of the oral cavity and these professionals have very close contact with the complex nasal and oropharyngeal area. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to quantify the prevalence of infection among dentistry professionals in the state of Rio Grande do Norte by COVID-19. This is a census with all professionals who are involved in Dentistry (CD, TSB, ASB, TPD and APD), with active enrollment in the Regional Council of Dentistry (CRO-RN). An electronic form, built on the Google ® platform, is being used as a data collection instrument. These forms are sent using the official email of the Regional Council of Dentistry of RN and through the message transmission list of the Whatsapp messaging application, via SMS-type messages and posted on this entity's social networks. At the end of this research, the objective is to quantify the prevalence of infection of dentistry professionals in the State of Rio Grande do Norte by covid-19, considering various aspects of interest to the profession and thus having a profile of how the pandemic behaved in the face of professionals, being able to propose improvements in the management of dental care in the public and private scope, to minimize the impacts of the disease in these groups.
