SUMMARY:

INTRODUCTION: Oral lipectomy is the removal of a fatty tissue located on the face, indicated for aesthetic and functional purposes. Three-dimensional photogrammetry or stereophotogrammetry is an imaging technique that creates a 3D surface image using multiple cameras or multiple photographic shots. OBJECTIVE: To identify clinical and surgical parameters, and evaluate whether oral lipectomy as an isolated surgical procedure causes quantitatively measurable and subjectively identifiable aesthetic changes. METHODS: This is a study of the effectiveness of the surgical procedure. Oral lipectomies were performed in 15 carefully selected patients, a total of 30 oral lipectomies. A photographic protocol for three-dimensional photogrammetry was performed in two operative stages, T0: preoperative and T1: 10 months postoperatively. The clinical and surgical parameters observed were: interincisal opening, body weight, amount of fat removed in grams and milliliters; and visual analog scale of pain. For subjective analysis, a photographic analysis will be carried out, through a questionnaire on the Google® Form, with Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Plastic Surgeons and facial harmonization specialist. The quantitative assessment of the soft tissue alteration will be carried out through the GOM inspect® program using a color map and millimeter measurements in the subzygomatic region. Mann Whitney, ANOVA tests for repeated samples, Friedman, Wilcoxon will be used. PRELIMINARY RESULTS: The sample consisted of three men and 12 female dose, 11 of which were white and four were feoderma. The average fat removal was 3.79 grams in the 30 hemi-faces. The mean age was 27.78 years (21-34 years) at the time of the surgical procedure. The visual analog scale of pain showed an average number of 2.13 with seven days postoperatively, which returned to zero after one month, postoperatively. The amount of fat in grams corresponded to the amount of fat observed in milliliters. The interincisal opening had a median decrease of 14 mm (Q25-9.5; Q75-18.4) at seve postoperative days, and returned to the initial parameters at one month. 1.75 anesthetic tubes were used for each side.
