SUMMARY:

In the scarcity of studies of methods that corroborate the use of density tools in digital dental radiographs as assist in the artifacts detection, a study to evaluate the influence of X-ray exposure time, composite resin and radiographic, in the production of bovine tooth interface artifacts -restorative material, through the analysis of density by region of interest (ROI) and Line analyzer of the Image J software. As null hypotheses it is expected that no significant difference be found between X-ray exposure times and artifact presence investigated by sensor type and density analysis type in 6 kinds of composite resins. Thus the exposure time will not produce radiographic artifacts noticeable to the applied density analyzes. To test the truth of the facts about the influence of X-ray exposure time, sensor and restorative material, on the production of digital radiographic artifacts in teeth with restorations, as well as the use of software tools such as artifact diagnostic devices, can assist the dentist in the use of increasing technology in the field of phosphorus radiodiagnosis, facilitating the correct diagnosis of caries lesions at the tooth-restoration interface. Therefore, the education and training of dental professionals on these phenomena is highly likely to improve their diagnostic performance and treatment plans.
