TITLE:
MORPHOLOGICAL AND IMMUNOHISTOCHEMICAL EVALUATION OF EPITELIAL PROLIFERATIVE POTENTIAL OF AGGRESSIVE ODONTOGENIC CYSTIC INJURIES

KEY WORDS:

odontogenic cysts; cyclin D1; EGFR; SOX 2.

PAGES: 44
BIG AREA: Ciências da Saúde
AREA: Odontologia
SUMMARY:

Odontogenic cysts are known for their growth potential and bone resorption of gnatic bones, ranging from indolent to aggressive, regardless of their histogenesis, linked to the epithelial, ectomesenchymal and / or mesenchymal remnants of odontogenesis. Most of these lesions present controversial pathogenesis, which is why they motivate numerous investigations about the possible relationship between the odontogenic epithelium and the development of these lesions. Thus, the present study aims to analyze the different proliferation patterns of the odontogenic epithelium of the more aggressive behavioral odontogenic cystic lesions, to investigate and compare the immunoexpression of epidermal growth factor (EGFR) and the SOX 2 transcriptional pathway. control of cell cycle phases (cyclin D1) in aggressive odontogenic lesions. A cross-sectional study will be conducted with a non-probabilistic convenience sample consisting of 31 cases, 10 cases of relapsing odontogenic keratocysts, 10 cases of isolated odontogenic keratocysts (COs), 7 cases of botryoid odontogenic cysts (BOC) and 4 cases of glandular odontogenic cysts. (COG), in order to contribute knowledge about the biological behavior of these lesions.
