RESUMO:

Odontogenic cysts and tumors constitute a heterogeneous group of lesions originating from epithelial and / or ectomesenchymal tissues from the embryonic development of the dental organ. Ameloblastoma (AMB), odontogenic keratocyst (CO) and adenomatoid odontogenic tumor (TOA) are odontogenic lesions of epithelial origin with diverse biological profiles and have become the target of numerous investigations. Defects in cell cycle regulation may be involved in the development and progression of these lesions. INGs (inhibitors of growth) proteins play an important role in cell cycle control, senescence, DNA repair, cell proliferation and apoptosis in various neoplasms. Therefore, the aim of this study is to investigate the expression of ING1 and ING2, to better understand the possible role of these proteins in AMBs, COs and TOAs. The sample will consist of 20 COs, 20 AMBs, 20 TOAs and 10 dental follicles (FD). Immunoexpression will be evaluated quantitatively in each case studied, from which five representative fields at random at high magnification (40X) will be photographed. After obtaining five photographs of each sample, positive and negative cells will be counted using the Image J® program (National Institute of Mental Health, Bethesda, Maryland, USA). The counted cell percentages will be considered as follows: 0-5%, negative (-); and 6-100% positive (+). For statistical analysis, the Kruskal-Wallis (KW), Mann-Whitney (U) and Spearman (r) tests will be set at a significance level of 5% (p <0.05).
