THERMOCATALYTIC EVALUATION OF CEREUM IMPREGNATED EXPANDED PERLITE AND H-Y ZEOLITE IN THE CONVERSION OF POLYPROPYLENE TO FUEL
polypropylene; zeolite H-Y; expanded perlite; thermal degradation.
This work aimed to evaluate the activity of the perlite impregnated with cerium in the catalytic degradation of polypropylene, as well as the use of the mixture of catalysts (perlite / cerium + zeolite HY) in this process, aiming at obtaining liquid fuels in the gasoline and diesel ranges. Cerium was added to the perlite by means of the excess solvent impregnation method. The materials were analyzed using the XRD, XRF, GC and TGA techniques. The degradation profile of the polypropylene was evaluated in a thermobalance and the composition of the generated products was observed using a pyrolizer coupled to a chromatograph with a flame ionization detector. The analysis of the reaction products was performed using the PONA method.
