It utilized an intervention methodology through a didactic sequence, developed and applied using the multimodal comic strip genre and the cross-cutting theme of citizenship, through the following stages: initial stage, where a diagnostic activity was carried out to assess the reading difficulties presented by the students; module stage, through expository classes, research, and group discussions, addressing issues of reading and interpreting comic strips, with a focus on the citizenship theme; and the final stage, where a final activity was produced serving as the basis for analyzing the results of the proposed activities. In order to understand the class profile, the participants underwent a questionnaire to identify both reading preferences and difficulties related to reading and understanding texts.
