Health Residency; Formation; Educational Assessment.
Introduction: the teaching in the health field has undergone important changes and the advent of Medical and Multiprofessional Residency programs in Brazil has enabled health service professionals to discuss and reflect on SUS principles and guidelines. Bearing in mind that training specialists for the Unified Health System requires the acquisition and / or improvement of skills, attitudes and knowledge within their area of expertise, it is essential to guide training through relevant assessments. Objective: To elaborate a skills matrix and an evaluation tool for the performance of Residents of the Multiprofessional Residence in Maternal and Child Care at the Ana Bezerra University Hospital. Methodology: Qualitative study of the interventional type, with participants from the Residents of the first year of 2019, tutors and the coordinator of the Residence. The data collection of the study was developed in two stages: The first, consisted of a workshop with Residents and tutors to discuss and elaborate a proposal for a skills matrix and a new evaluation instrument for the Residence. The second stage, which also took place in the form of a workshop, counted on the participation of tutors and the coordinator of the Residence to adjust the proposed instruments. The speeches of the participants of the first workshop were transcribed and analyzed using Bardin (2011) as a reference. Results: This work results in the construction of two instruments. The first is called the Competency Matrix and the second is called Competence Assessment Instrument. The discussions held in the workshops revealed the residents' difficulties in preparing these two instruments, as well as the need to develop an instrument capable of assessing their competence.
