: Preceptorship, Preceptory, Teaching Hospital, Boarding School, Residence
In the context of academic training, both in graduation and postgraduate courses, in the lato sensu modality, of medical and multiprofessional residences, preceptors are fundamental pieces for the consolidation of the mission of a university hospital, regarding vocational training. The present study aims to show the perception of preceptors of a teaching hospital about the preceptor process in a university hospital managed by the Brazilian Company of Hospital Services (EBSERH). Through a qualitative, exploratory descriptive study developed at the University Hospital Onofre Lopes (HUOL), with the use of the focal group technique, performed during two years. The study included preceptors of the Medical and Multiprofessional Residences with RJU (Single Legal Regime - UFRN) and CLT (Consolidation of Labor Laws - EBSERH) employment contracts, aiming to analyze perceptions based on the labor relationship. The criterion of inclusion in the research was those with more than one year exercising the preceptory, and as an exclusion criterion, the servers with less than one year in this function. According to Resolution 466/2012 of the National Health Council (CNS), the research was submitted to the Ethics and Research Committee being approved. The professionals under study make up the various professions in the context of Health Residencies (Social Worker, Nurse, Pharmacist, Physiotherapist, Nutritionist, Physicians, Psychologists), and data were collected from focus group interviews in two meetings: one with RJU servers and the other with CLT servers. Data analysis was done through BARDIN's Categorical Analysis. The data obtained indicated that the preceptors presented the same opinions on the questions raised. It was found that, servants of both links, had the perception of the relevance of their participation in the context of the training of future health professionals; of the constant need of his qualification, as preceptor; on the part of the institution, regardless of the link, evidencing the need to adopt, on the part of the latter, a normalization that allows them to understand the difference between professional in service and preceptor of the service, and, at the same time, to improve their execution, allowing them a more pleasant pedagogical performance and a better performance, concomitant with excellence in health care.
