Introduction: The Face-to-Face Course in Humanized Care for the Low-Weight Newborn: Kangaroo Mother Method (KMM) has guided a Public Health policy used by the Brazilian Ministry of Health since 2000. It has served as a humanized care model to the Mother and Low Weight Newborn (MLWN) which has contributed to the reduction of newly born morbidity and mortality, in proportion to the need for trained professionals to understand and deal with patients so fragile and vulnerable to illnesses that even banal have become aggressive, compromising the lives of these small patients during hospitalization and after hospital discharge. Aim: Proposing modeling of pedagogical training in the Distance Teaching modality for health professionals and laypersons who have dealt directly with the KMM and have as final product the construction and feasibility of a Distance Learning (DL) Pedagogical Training Program in KMM in the Virtual Learning Environment of the Unified Health System (VLE-UHS). Methodology:This is a qualitative research, in which the working environment of public institutions of the State of Rio Grande do Norte will be used. Significantly routine and problematic moments in the lives of individuals experiencing the phases of the Kangaroo Mother method will be described and shown. We chose the modified flowchart of SEDIS (Secretaria de Educação a Distância) of Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte) as a model for the creation of the training. It was implanted and inserted the Distance Learning Course, self instructive, without mediation of tutors, with a workload of 150 hours, and pedagogical methodology of VLE-UHS. Conclusion: The implantation of a self-instructed course model mediated by technology based on a face-to-face model will give a chance to all the health professionals and families to learn about the humanized conducts of the Kanguroo Mother Method, which will serve as a model to the Brazilian Unique Health System.
