INTERPRETATIVE REFLECTIONS ON POSSIBLE APPROACHES TO POPULAR BRAZILIAN MUSIC THROUGH SELECTED REPERTOIRE FOR HORN GROUPS

The discussion about the variety in terms of playing and learning a musical instrument is growing increasingly through the last years on the academic scene. In this context, the present research has as a goal to open the repertoire of possible approaches while collectively interpreting popular music with the horn. Such a process will happen through the technical-interpretative analysis of selected repertoire with Brazilian Popular Music for horn ensembles, while dialoguing with the available literature related with learning and playing the horn, brass instruments and other instruments. Teachers with an carrer considered to be relevant to the horn ensemble practice in Brazil will be interviewed, aiming a deeper understanding on the pedagogy involved in that kind of practice .
