This Master’s qualification work consists of a preliminary project proposal for academic residences in Mossoró /RN. This document consists of a technical report and an architectural project. The proposal is based on the adoption of a constructive system and adequate and favorable design decisions to reduce the discomfort caused by the high temperatures characteristic of semiarid climate regions. To achieve this goal, the work appropriated research to bioclimatic criteria, to promote better use of the conditions of the place. Among the applied methodologies were developed theoretical-conceptual studies on the subject, which allowed to establish design guidelines and software analysis to better adapt to parameters related to ventilation and sunshine. The studies developed and the discussions presented during the design process broadened the horizons in the practice of professional practice, enriching the design methods experienced in architectural offices.
