YOUTH, COMMUNICATION AND EDUCATION: A STUDY ABOUT EDUCOMMUNICATION PRÁXIS AT THE PUBLIC SCHOOL

This report intends to investigate the media using and the production of multimedia content in communication by students in school environment in the construction of their citizenship and social emancipation. By means of participatory action research, we investigated the educational practice followed up by students of the school called Francisco de Assis Varela Cavalcanti in Natal (RN) Nowadays it is apparent how much digital communication is inserted in the people's life as an indispensable element. The technologies enable full-time mobility and connectivity in a synchronous and asynchronous way. Due to the popularization of digital technologies, the immense information flow, accessibility to mobile devices, combined with interactivity, a rupture with old school / educational paradigms arises. However, there is still a worry with the formative force of communication linked to culture to the detriment of the traditional resources of formal education. In this study we also performed a critical analysis encompassing the field of communication, education and the convergence of both on the approach of social emancipation and citizenship. As we reflect on the socio-cultural, political and economic field that has repercussions in both Communication and Education.
