Development conceptions in tourism in protected areas

This ongoing research aims to discuss tourism as a means of development in protected areas (PAs). Its course is based on the theoretical and conceptual contribution of areas of knowledge such as tourism, political ecology, administration. The approach of the study is mostly qualitative. It is descriptive, explanatory and systemic in perspective. The empirical field is composed of potiguares APs. The categories of analysis are based on Sistur de Beni (1998). Research strategies include: bibliographic, documentary and field research. ProKnow-C, semi-structured interview and non-participant observation are the data collection instruments. Content analysis will be the technique used in data analysis. At the end of the research, it is expected to contribute to the literature on the subject and for tourism to be a means for development in UCs.
