SUMMARY:

The ritual cuisine of Candomblé terreiros is a practice steeped in knowledge, symbolism, and sociocultural relationships that express the identity and organization of terreiro communities. In this context, its connection to the creative economy offers opportunities for developing initiatives that reconcile cultural preservation, income generation, and the strengthening of cultural tourism, while respecting the boundaries imposed by the sacred nature of these practices. Thus, this study aims to understand how the ritual cuisine of Candomblé terreiros can enhance tourism through the creative economy. This is a qualitative study of an exploratory-descriptive nature, grounded in ethnography. The research will be conducted at a Candomblé terreiro in the Metropolitan Region of Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, belonging to the Ketu nation, using participant observation, field notes, and semi-structured interviews with members of the religious community as methodological procedures. The data will be analyzed using content analysis, seeking to identify the relationships between ritual cuisine, the creative economy, and tourism, as well as the possibilities, challenges, and limitations of this approach. The results are expected to contribute to a broader understanding of ritual cuisine as an element capable of fostering creative economy initiatives linked to tourism, promoting greater visibility for terreiro communities, and encouraging local development and income-generation strategies compatible with their cultural and religious practices. It also aims to provide guidance to researchers, public officials, and tourism stakeholders in formulating actions that respect community autonomy, combat stigma and intolerance, and strengthen tourism practices committed to cultural and religious diversity.
