DESTINO TURÍSTICO INTELIGENTE À LUZ DO MODELO DESENVOLVIDO PELO INVAT.TUR: UM ESTUDO EM NATAL/RN.

In the face of the competitive market, the tourist destinations seek innovation strategies to improve the positioning and boost the tourist promotion, in order to provide the tourist a unique experience during the stay at the destination. With the proposal to leverage the tourism activity, through the application of Information and Communications Technology (ICT), the advent of intelligent technologies, corroborate with the development of the concept Smart Tourist Destination (STD). In this context, the main question that is objective to answer in the study is: How to make the destination Natal holiday in a smart tourist destination? In order to achieve the objective of the research, a case study applied to the Natal (Rio Grande do Norte) tourist destination will be analyzed in the light of the Spanish model of the INVAT.TUR, developed for the tourist destinations of the Valencian Community, which presents indicators such as governance, sustainability, connectivity, sensing, information system and innovation, which aims to guide the research, adapting to Reality of Fate. With regard to the means of research, it was defined as the target audience of the study, public agents related to the tourist activity of Natal, through the conduct of a half-structured interviews. The research is descriptive and exploratory, through a qualitative approach, through the technique of content analysis. To assist in the analysis of the data, it is intended to use the qualitative and mixed analysis Software, the NVIVO. It is expected to contribute to the literature in the field of study in technology management in tourism, since the thematic destination intelligent tourist is in the phase of expansion at the world level, and not being different in the Brazilian territory.
