Technology in the management of people: a study in the hotel sector of Natal/RN

As globalization and technological advances force the management of people to adopt competitive models, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) enables the area to be modernized and reconfigured its work structure. In this context, the practices of people management are innovated, eliminating operational functions, starting to act strategically. The present study aims to understand how ICTs are used to manage the processes of people management in the hotel sector of Natal (Rio Grande do Norte). It is characterized by a qualitative, exploratory and descriptive approach. To meet the proposed goal, we intend to use the methodology of multiple case studies, through a semi-structured interview script. The target audience will be composed of those responsible for managing the area of people management in large hotels. The collected data will be analyzed through the technique of content analysis, with the aid of software for analysis of qualitative data. It is believed that with the results it is possible to increase the knowledge about the use of these applications in the hotel sector, improving the quality of services, through better human performance and people management practices.
