SUMMARY:

The research has as its object the development of a mobile application prototype
intended for home monitoring of patients in the post-hematopoietic stem cell
transplantation period. The application will be designed to record daily clinical events at
home and organize this information for availability to the multiprofessional team. It will
be a methodological study, with a quantitative approach, structured according to the
theoretical, empirical, and analytical procedures proposed by Pasquali for content and
appearance development. In the theoretical procedures, a Scoping Review on home care
in the post-HSCT period will be conducted, following JBI and PRISMA-ScR
guidelines, with a protocol registered in the OSF. A focus group will also be conducted
with professionals working in HSCT to identify clinical needs related to home
monitoring. Based on these steps, the prototype development will follow the ADDIE
model. Content validation will adopt the requirements of content adequacy based on
Pasquali, with application of item analysis criteria and the Content Validity Coefficient
(CVC). Judge selection will follow criteria adapted from Fehring. Appearance
validation will use the Suitability Assessment of Materials (SAM) instrument, with
additional CVC calculation to verify the adequacy of the prototype’s presentation.
Usability evaluation will be conducted with patients and caregivers undergoing HSCT,
using the System Usability Scale (SUS). The effectiveness evaluation will follow a
quasi-experimental pre-test and post-test design in a single group, with the application
of an author-developed instrument to assess the perception of organization, recording,
and communication of clinical information, as well as the voluntary analysis of
technical app usage metrics, generated by the participant themselves, without the
collection of clinical data. Statistical analysis will be performed in SPSS software, with
descriptive statistics, Shapiro-Wilk test, Wilcoxon test, and effect size calculation. The
study will follow current ethical standards and will include ethics committee approval,
use of the Free and Informed Consent Form, and protection of participants’ recorded
information. The prototype will not have an emergency care purpose.
