SUMMARY:

This research focuses on the “A Autora Sou Eu” Artist-in-Residence program, held in the city of Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, in December 2024. This artist-inresidence program targeted self-identified Black and mixed-race women and was designed to provide a space dedicated to the creation of dramatic texts and/or short scenes, drawing on the participants’ themes of memory and ancestry. Using the concepts of “escrevivência” (Evaristo, 2020) and “oralitura” (Martins, 1997) as a theoretical framework, the research’s overall objective is to analyze how the creative triggers developed during the “A Autora Sou Eu” Artist-inResidence program mobilize processes of writing and reworking the lived experiences of the participating Black and Brown women, seeking to understand whether these processes enable them to critically rethink their own place as Black women in society. The methodological procedures adopted include recollection and description of the residency, including analysis of the documentation produced there such as logbooks, activity reports, photographs, and videos as well as an analysis, based on the concepts of “escrevivência” and “oralitura,” of the writings produced by the participants. Thus, the intention is for this study to strengthen the field of the performing arts by reflecting on artistic-pedagogical processes centered on the creative work of Black women, intertwining writing, orality, memory, and ancestry.
