DROPOUT INDICATORS IN SPECIALIZATION COURSES DISTANCE LEARNING/ONLINE
Indicators. Evasion. Distance learning/online specializations.
School dropout is an effective indicator of an educational system, reflecting both the capacity to retain students and the quality of education offered. The lack of studies and programs for dropout, as well as the need for detailed and statistically accurate reports, has become essential to guide decision-making by managers, assisting in the coordination of activities developed by platform maintenance projects. This study aims to map and identify evidence of dropout indicators in distance learning/online specialization courses, based on a scoping review of 11 articles published in the last five years in Portuguese. The review used the Joanna Briggs Institute and PRISMA-ScR manuals as a basis, with support from Rayyan software for selecting the studies. To detail the analysis, the studies were organized into three categories, concluding that: Category 1 - Institutional aspects represents 48%, almost half of the indicators analyzed; Category 2 - Social aspects with 12% of the total; and Category 3 - Personal aspects indicate 40% of the categories identified. The results indicate that school dropout is a multifactorial phenomenon, influenced by combined and interconnected factors.
