Tribological study of nanolubricants for gearbox applications
POE base oil, wind energy, gearbox, nanolubricants.
This work focuses on developing an innovative nanofluid based on a previously selected oil, aiming at application in gearboxes of offshore wind turbines. The main objective is to investigate the potential of base oil with additives containing reduced graphene oxide as an anti-wear agent in gears to extend the useful life of components under severe operating conditions. To this end, an experimental bench was built to simulate the operation of a wind turbine gearbox, enabling future tribological tests to analyze the performance of the nanolubricant. The methodology will allow the comparison of gears' wear behaviour and efficiency using the additive lubricant in relation to conventional oils. It is expected that the developed nanofluid will offer a significant reduction in wear and friction, in addition to increasing corrosion resistance, contributing to the improvement of the maintenance and operation of offshore wind turbines
