Pharmacists and other health professionals must be trained to assist elderly people in the use of medicines in elderly people undergoing polypharmacy. Therefore, the research aimed to build workshops to obtain situational strategic planning for pharmaceutical care for elderly patients. The research was developed at the Mãe Joaquina Basic Health Unit, located in the municipality of São Fernando/RN, with a team of 9 professionals who make up the unit and who are directly linked to pharmaceutical care, from August to November 2023. For the development of situational strategic planning (PES), workshops were held, with the fishbowl method for the phase I explanatory moment, realistic simulation for the phase II explanatory moment, the Kahoot!â tool for the normative and strategic moments and discussion in groups for the tactical-operational moment. Through the use of active methodologies during the workshops, an operational plan was obtained with improvements in aspects of multidisciplinary communication, as well as operations and actions to improve the pharmaceutical assistance service provided in basic health care for elderly people.
