In 2001, the Ministry of Health (MS) and the Ministry of Education (MEC) created the National Curricular Guidelines for the Medical Course (DCN) to improve health education. This led to the implementation of active learning methodologies, which encourage students' active participation and the development of autonomy. In this context, the use of skills training as a teaching strategy in skill laboratories and clinical simulation provides students with the opportunity to make mistakes and learn from them, adjust patterns, and identify weaknesses, thereby contributing to safety and decision-making in proposed practices. To create and validate a guide for use in clinical skills training. A methodological study consisting of four stages: definition of objectives, literature review, content development, and guide validation. The study was approved by the ethics committee and included 18 expert judges. A guide was developed, structured into five dimensions: 1) Identification; 2) Characterization of competencies and skills; 3) Human and material resources; 4) Content; 5) Evaluation; and 6) Complementary information. The sample predominantly consisted of male experts aged 35-39 years. In terms of professional background, 44.4% (n=8) were nurses and 44.4% (n=8) were doctors. Most participants held specialist and master's degrees, with 50% (n=9) also having a PhD. In the analysis of indices related to "Identification," the representativeness of the items was high, with overall values of 0.90 for IVC and IVF, and 0.81 for CVC. Regarding importance, the items were evaluated as extremely relevant, with values of 0.95 for IVC and IVF and 0.85 for CVC. The clarity of the items was also well-rated, with values of 0.96 for IVC and IVF, and 0.87 for CVC. Reliability indices (ICC) ranged from 0.751 (good) to 0.856 (very good), indicating good to excellent consistency in the measurements. For the factor "Characterization of competencies and skills," the representativeness was also high, with values of 0.90 for IVC and IVF, and 0.85 for CVC. Importance was considered very high, with an overall value of 0.99, and the clarity of the items was rated 0.97, demonstrating high clarity. For the "Human and material resources" factor, representativeness was good, with values of 0.92 for IVC and IVF, and 0.83 for CVC. The representativeness for the "Content" factor was very good, with values of 0.96 for IVC and IVF, and 0.90 for CVC. Importance was also high, with values of 0.99 for IVC and IVF, and 0.93 for CVC. The internal reliability of the items was excellent, with an ICC of 0.945 and Cronbach's Alpha of 0.945. Data for the "Evaluation" factor showed good consistency in terms of representativeness, importance, clarity, and factor belonging. On the other hand, the items for the "Complementary information" factor showed significant inconsistencies. Representativeness was very low, with an ICC of 0.181 and Cronbach's Alpha of 0.176, suggesting that these items may not be adequately aligned with the proposed evaluation. Importance was also low (ICC = 0.386; Cronbach's Alpha = 0.376), though with slight improvement compared to representativeness. For clarity, the indices (ICC = 0.761; Cronbach's Alpha = 0.767) showed moderate consistency, while factor belonging showed good consistency (ICC = 0.790; Cronbach's Alpha = 0.790), indicating better alignment and adequacy of the items. These results suggest that the guide demonstrates high quality and reliability in the fundamental dimensions, although the "Complementary information" factor requires adjustments to improve its consistency and alignment with the training objectives. The validated guide meets the quality and standardization requirements for teaching medical skills, demonstrating high reliability and alignment with pedagogical objectives.

INTRODUCTION: Congenital syphilis is a severe bacterial disease that can be prevented through the detection and appropriate treatment of pregnant women with syphilis during prenatal care. In light of the increasing number of congenital syphilis cases worldwide, failures have been identified in the implementation of existing public health policies to combat syphilis within the scope of Primary Health Care (PHC). In this context, Permanent Health Education (PHE), which involves learning and professional improvement processes based on the daily needs of health services, promotes changes in care practices and serves as a valuable ally. OBJECTIVE: To analyze the temporal and spatial distribution of reported congenital syphilis cases in a referral hospital for maternal and child care in the 5th Health Region of RN and, based on this, carry out an educational intervention with PHC health professionals to combat vertical transmission of syphilis in a municipality with higher vulnerability to case occurrence in the region. MATERIAL AND METHOD: An initial observational, exploratory, and descriptive study with a quantitative approach, documentary, and retrospective in nature, was conducted to analyze the temporal and spatial distribution and the characterization of congenital syphilis cases reported by Huab from June 2016 to 2023. For this purpose, 307 congenital syphilis notification forms from the Notifiable Diseases Information System (Sinan) were analyzed. Based on the data analysis, the municipality of Bom Jesus – RN was selected, and the educational intervention, the workshop “Combating Syphilis from Pregnancy to Birth,” was implemented. RESULTS: The epidemiological study revealed a progressive increase in congenital syphilis cases in the sample between June 2016 and 2023, with a 64,58% growth rate in notifications. The municipalities with the highest average incidence rates of congenital syphilis (per 1,000 live births) were São Bento do Trairi (23,6), São Pedro (23,4), Lajes Pintadas (23,2), and Bom Jesus (22,4). Furthermore, it was identified that, starting in 2019, the diagnosis of gestational syphilis was predominantly made at the time of delivery, demonstrating the fragility of prenatal care offered in the studied region. Subsequently, the educational intervention was implemented, aiming to sensitize and train different categories of PHC health professionals in combating syphilis and congenital syphilis. During the workshop, we discussed the epidemiological situation of syphilis, the natural history of the disease, clinical and laboratory diagnosis, treatment, mandatory notification, and case monitoring. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: Identifying emerging areas for congenital syphilis case occurrence enables the targeting of interventions to these locations, increasing the effectiveness of health actions. The need to expand the availability of laboratory tests for syphilis diagnosis during prenatal care and greater involvement of PHC in popular health education activities is emphasized. These efforts should align with promoting maternal and child health and strengthening public policies to combat syphilis.

With the promulgation of the Brazilian Federal Constitution of 1988 and the creation of the Unified Health System (SUS), an important movement has been observed to reorganize medical education, aiming to align the medical profile with the real needs of a universal, comprehensive, and equitable public health system, with primary care as its main strategic axis. Family and Community Medicine is the specialty of excellence for work in primary care and, given its defining characteristics, it plays an important role in reorienting medical education. The Multicampi School of Medical Sciences (EMCM), located in the interior of Rio Grande do Norte and committed to the principles of social accountability to guide medical education, invests in strategies for education within and for SUS, with a highlight being the structuring of a longitudinal internship: the Integrated Community Experience. This study aims to systematize the contents of Family and Community Medicine for the Integrated Community Experience modules. For this purpose, a qualitative, descriptive, and exploratory research was conducted, utilizing documentary research and the researcher's involvement, under the thematic analysis framework. Four documents were analyzed for content analysis and systematization: "National Curriculum Guidelines for Medical Education" from 2014, the "Pedagogical Project of the EMCM Course," in its latest version from 2023, the "Guidelines for Teaching in Primary Health Care in Undergraduate Medicine" from 2012, and the "Competency-Based Curriculum for Family and Community Medicine" from 2014. The analysis resulted in three categories reflecting the institution's curriculum strategies for medical education in primary care: (1) The "morphology" of the EMCM curriculum from the perspective of the National Curriculum Guidelines, (2) the primary care training strategies in the EMCM curriculum, and (3) EMCM teaching through the lens of Family and Community Medicine. The analysis reveals a strong commitment of the institution to primary care-focused medical education and a strong alignment with the National Curriculum Guidelines for Medical Education from 2014. However, the field of Family and Community Medicine knowledge still remains underexplored in the curriculum. Ultimately, this research supports the development of a proposal for a Family and Community Medicine curriculum matrix for the VIC modules

With the process of interiorization of higher education in health, the Multicampi School of Medical Sciences (EMCM) brings to Seridó Potiguar the proposal to introduce, among professional qualification opportunities, the Multiprofessional Residency Programs in Maternal and Child Health and Primary Care (PRMAB), a postgraduate specialization program (lato sensu, in the Brazilian educational system) in the work-based learning modality. This type of education aims to qualify professionals and the regional service network where residents are placed, strengthening the integration between education and service. The PRMAB goes beyond teaching biomedical concepts, seeking to expand the scope of health education to a heterogeneous range of professions, to strengthen actions in the intersectoral network of social policies. In this program, residents are directed to services under the Social Assistance Policy. Preceptorship emerges in health practice settings and intersectoral services as a new activity to be developed by professionals, posing a challenge. This study aimed to report the experience of teaching activities for preceptors in the social assistance services of Caicó-RN and to produce a training itinerary for preceptors linked to the PRMAB/EMCM through teaching workshops. This qualitative study, structured as an experience report, was conducted at the Social Assistance Reference Centers (CRAS) and the Specialized Social Assistance Reference Center (CREAS) between October and December 2024. Initially, a semi-structured questionnaire was administered to professionals in these services, followed by the organization of four thematic workshops: 1) Multiprofessional Residency Program and its pedagogical plan; 2) Preceptorship; 3) Teaching, service, and community; and 4) cross-sector collaboration. As an outcome of these workshops, a teaching itinerary was developed for preceptors to use in their daily routines, aiming to qualify the teaching-learning process during rotations in social assistance services.

Changes in behaviors, including dietary habits, lifestyle, and environmental factors, have exacerbated imbalances in the human body, resulting in irreversible consequences. Colorectal cancer is currently the third most prevalent cancer globally. Although this condition is not the only cause of ostomy creation, it accounts for 36% of surgeries performed for this purpose. Given this reality, it is critical to comprehend the complexity of scenarios and individuals to design effective individual and collective care strategies, where comprehensive healthcare is pivotal to achieving desired patient outcomes. This study aimed to train professionals through matrix support (a collaborative interdisciplinary strategy) and develop strategies to facilitate access to necessary documents and workflows for reaching the Specialized Rehabilitation Center (CER III) in Caicó-RN, Brazil. Furthermore, it sought to report the experience of training healthcare professionals via permanent health education (PHE) strategies, emphasizing matrix support, to improve access for ostomy users to CER III in Caicó-RN. This qualitative descriptive study, structured as an experience report, was conducted in December 2024 with nurses from hospitals affiliated with the Seridó Regional Public Health Unit (IV URSAP)—specifically those working in surgical clinics at two regional hospitals—and members of the Permanent Health Education Nuclei (NEP). Three PHE workshops were conducted, covering themes such as Healthcare Networks, Matrix Support, and Ostomy Management, delivered through hybrid (remote and in-person) formats. Active learning methodologies were employed to encourage theoretical and practical discussions. Furthermore, a quick response code (QR Code) was created to streamline access and workflows for ostomy users within the healthcare network. The study underscored the importance of PHE and matrix support in hospitals and CER III in Caicó-RN, fostering systematic cross-service collaboration.

Introduction: Patient safety is a fundamental aspect of qualifying healthcare, requiring the implementation of strategies that favor the consolidation of an organizational culture focused on mitigating risks and preventing adverse events. In this context, the integration between teaching and service is an essential tool for the continuous improvement of healthcare practices and for the development of professional skills focused on healthcare safety. The adoption of strategies based on teaching-service-community integration has the potential to strengthen the patient safety culture by articulating academic knowledge with healthcare practices. In teaching hospitals, this approach enables the implementation of educational actions aimed at both students and healthcare professionals, promoting continuous training and directly impacting the quality of care provided. This professional qualification contributes to reducing the occurrence of adverse events and harm to patients, optimizing the safety and effectiveness of healthcare services. Objectives: To strengthen the hospital Patient Safety Center (NSP) through teaching-service-community integration. Methodology: This is a descriptive exploratory qualitative study, of the action research type, approved by the Ethics Committee of FACISA/UFRN, and carried out in a public hospital in Seridó Potiguar. Initially, the HSOPSC questionnaire was applied to the management board to assess the patient safety culture. Based on the results obtained, an intervention plan was developed for the programming of educational actions. Such actions were carried out based on the guidelines of the Teaching-Service-Community Integration, with the objective of strengthening safety practices among hospital professionals. Finally, a Patient Safety Technical Manual was developed, containing guidelines and good practices essential for improving safety in care. Results: The HSOPSC questionnaire was applied to assess the patient safety culture in the health unit. The average of the patient safety dimensions analyzed was 51.60%, indicating that the patient safety culture still needs to be strengthened. Based on these results, an intervention plan was developed to program educational actions in order to strengthen safety practices among hospital professionals. Based on this, considering the teaching-service-community integration, 26 educational moments were held, reaching 1,435 people, involving health professionals, managers, users and students. In addition, a Patient Safety Technical Manual was created, containing guidelines and good practices essential for improving safety in care. Final Considerations: At the end of the study, it was found that the objectives were achieved, making it possible to understand the patient safety climate of the hospital unit; to build an intervention plan for the hospital NSP based on the articulation with local universities; to develop educational actions based on the intervention plan in partnership with local universities; and to prepare a Patient Safety Technical Manual as a technical product. It is expected that other studies can be promoted by valuing the integration of teaching and service as a way to strengthen safe practices in health services.

Burnout syndrome is characterized as a psychological disorder resulting from chronic work-related stress and may induce changes in oral health. This study evaluated the oral manifestations associated with burnout in students and health professionals from Seridó Potiguar. In addition, an educational booklet focusing on oral and mental health care was developed based on the research data. A cross-sectional, observational and quantitative study was carried out. The Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) and a sociodemographic questionnaire were used to diagnose burnout. Participants diagnosed with burnout underwent clinical dental examinations including analysis of DMFT (Decayed, Missing, and Filled Teeth), Simplified Periodontal Index (PSR), Xerostomia Inventory, and assessment of bruxism and tooth attrition. A total of seventy students and professionals completed the MBI questionnaire. The results showed that 75.7% of the participants had scores consistent with burnout syndrome, with 68.2% in the early stage and 31.7% in the advanced stage. Significant differences were observed in self-reported bruxism and tooth wear (p = 0.036), as well as the presence of facet wear (p = 0.045) in the advanced stages of the syndrome. Conditions such as xerostomia and joint noise were also identified, but lacked statistical significance between burnout stages. The results highlight variations in oral health as burnout progresses, and reinforce the role of bruxism and facet wear as potential markers of the condition. The study highlights the importance of a multidisciplinary approach for early diagnosis and effective management, particularly by dentists, to improve the overall health and quality of life of health professionals and students. It also highlights the usefulness of health education, such as the booklet developed in this study, to raise public and professional awareness. These findings contribute to

Introduction: The rational use of drugs is essential for patient safety, requiring prescriptions that are clear, legible, and complete. However, the occurrence of nonconformities in prescription writing remains high. In this context, the active method "Teaching Good Practices in Prescription Writing" stands out, grounded in meaningful and peer learning, and supported by the validated QualiPresc instrument for assessing the quality of prescription writing. Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of the active method "Teaching Good Practices in Prescription Writing." Methodology: This is a quasi-experimental, pre-post study with a quantitative approach. Forty third-semester medical students from the Multicampi School of Medical Sciences at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil, enrolled in the module MDM4007 – Pain, participated in the study. The intervention was applied in eight stages, involving individual and group activities, group discussions, feedback, and reapplication of simulated clinical cases. Data collection was carried out at three time points: pre-intervention, immediate post-intervention, and late follow-up (fifteen days later). Prescriptions were evaluated using the QualiPresc instrument, and data were analyzed using non-parametric statistical tests (Friedman, Kruskal-Wallis, and Cochran), with a five percent significance level. Results and discussion: Significant improvement was observed in indicators such as “date of birth,” “allergy record,” “pharmaceutical form,” “route of administration,” and “non-pharmacological recommendations.” The average score increased from seventy-three point forty-seven (pre-test) to ninety-five point thirty-four (post-test), remaining at eighty-seven point eighty at follow-up (p < 0.001), indicating a positive impact and partial retention of learning. Variables such as “prescriber identification” and “dose” did not show statistically significant changes. Group prescriptions demonstrated homogeneous performance across groups. Conclusions: The proposed active method proved effective in improving the quality of prescription writing by medical students, promoting improvements in key aspects of clinical practice. The impact was partially maintained in the late follow-up, suggesting learning retention. The method appears promising as an educational strategy for medical training, contributing to patient safety and responsible clinical practice.

The prison system faces structural and healthcare challenges that compromise the dignity and health of people deprived of their liberty. In this context, the phenomenon of medicalization stands out. This process goes beyond the therapeutic dimension and acts as a mechanism of institutional regulation, transforming psychological suffering into an object of control, which requires professional training that qualifies the ex-prisoner to deal with these issues effectively. Thus, this study aimed to develop a proposal for a curricular component focused on medical training in the area of prison health, entitled Effective and Safe Healthcare Practices for People Deprived of Liberty, to be offered initially by the Escola Multicampi de Ciências Médicas of the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte. To this end, two integrative literature reviews were conducted, the first focused on the analysis of healthcare practices involving psychotropic drugs in the prison system; the second focused on educational strategies applied to health education in the prison context. In addition, a documentary analysis of documents guiding professional training was performed. This bibliographic survey supported the selection and compilation of the program content of the curricular component, in compliance with the teaching-learning methodologies and the graduate profile.

Introduction: The General Surgery Medical Residency Program (PRMCG) aims to train surgeons with advanced technical skills but lacks standardized methods for assessing these skills. The absence of structured feedback may result in gaps in resident training. Objective: To develop an evaluation app for practical skills of general surgery residents based on the validation of an instrument grounded in the Competency Matrix established for the General Surgery Medical Residency Program (PRMCG). Method: The study was conducted in four stages: integrative literature review, construction of the assessment instrument, validation of the instrument by experts, and app development. Results: The instrument construction considered the complexity of procedures and the resident’s training stage, including both objective and subjective evaluation items. Validation was carried out by expert judges in general surgery, who assessed the relevance, clarity, and scope of the proposed items. Concordance rates were calculated, and items with less than 80% agreement were reformulated. The validation results showed the instrument was considered relevant and comprehensive, with suggestions for improvements such as including a complexity scale for the same procedure, objective evaluation criteria, and automatic score generation by the system. Based on the validated instrument, the app was developed with an intuitive interface, enabling quick and effective resident assessments. Conclusion: The developed app represents a significant contribution to medical education, providing a practical and accessible tool for formative assessment of general surgery residents. Its implementation is expected to enhance teaching and training of future surgeons, ensuring they are prepared to face clinical practice challenges safely and competently.

This study is part of an umbrella research project entitled "Artificial Intelligence in the Prediction of Cervical Cytopathological Changes in Primary Health Care", and aims to train Primary Health Care professionals to adequately perform cytopathological exams and capture macroscopic images of the cervix. The general objective is to build and implement a training course aimed at doctors and nurses from five cities in Rio Grande do Norte, using clinical simulation as the main methodology. This is a research project funded by the CNPQ, linked to the aforementioned project, and will follow several steps. In the theoretical procedures, an integrative review will be carried out to map the evidence on the knowledge and practices necessary for training in the collection of macroscopic images during the cytopathological exam. In the empirical procedures, technical-educational material will be constructed in the format of a training course. In the analytical procedures, a pilot test will be carried out with participants from a selected municipality, followed by the implementation of the course in four other municipalities. This stage will also include the evaluation of the training course based on criteria such as behavior, objectivity, simplicity, clarity, relevance, precision, variety, modality, typicality, credibility, breadth, and balance. This evaluation will be conducted through an electronic form using a Likert scale, which will allow for the identification of patterns and areas in need of improvement. It is expected that the results of this research will lead to the standardization of care protocols, improving the quality of diagnoses. Furthermore, the training of professionals in the collection of exams and images is expected to result in better outcomes for users treated in Primary Health Care.

Introduction: EPS is a fundamental strategy for strengthening the SUS (Unified Health System), as it combines teaching, service, and management with a focus on transforming professional practices. In Rio Grande do Norte, the establishment of the State EPS Policy and the NEPs has contributed to identifying training needs and improving the quality of healthcare work. This study proposes the creation of a catalog of EPS needs to support more effective, participatory educational initiatives aligned with state policy guidelines, aiming to strengthen the HETFF NEP.
Objectives: To analyze the challenges and training needs of hospital care professionals, evidencing the Permanent Health Education needs through a catalog. Methodology: This is a qualitative, quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional research, developed with the aim of identifying the training needs of healthcare professionals at the Telecila Freitas Fontes State Hospital (HETFF) and supporting the development of a Permanent Health Education catalog. The study included 118 professionals from different categories. Data collection was carried out using a structured questionnaire, followed by quantitative and qualitative analysis of the responses. The findings substantiated the elaboration of the catalog, which was validated in a meeting with the NEP and the institution's Management Board. The project was approved by the Research Ethics Committee, under CAAE 82072924.1.000.55568, respecting the precepts of Resolution nº 466/2012. Results and Discussions: The survey results revealed the diverse training needs of HRTFF professionals and the importance of educational planning aligned with institutional realities. Most participate in one to three training sessions per year, with a preference for in-person activities in the afternoon. However, challenges such as work overload, multiple work commitments, and difficulties in obtaining permission limit participation. The professionals suggested active methodologies, greater dissemination, and integration of the NEP with the departments. Local experience has shown that qualified listening and participatory planning foster engagement. Based on these demands, a Catalog of EPS Needs was created to strengthen the culture of continuing education and improve healthcare quality. Final Considerations: It is concluded that the development of the Catalog of Permanent Health Education Needs at HETFF contributed to systematizing actual training demands and strengthening the role of the NEP in planning educational actions. The research highlighted the potential of qualified listening and collective participation in developing strategies aligned with the guidelines of the Rio Grande do Norte State EPS Policy, promoting the qualification of healthcare work in the hospital context.

Introduction: Nurses are key professionals in the provision of healthcare to patients with rare syndromes. In the case of Berardinelli-Seip Syndrome (BSS), a rare autosomal recessive metabolic disorder, it has been observed that nurses often lack the necessary knowledge to provide qualified and safe clinical care. Objective: To develop and validate an online continuing education course on BSS aimed at nurses. Method: This was a methodological study for the creation of courseware for online learning, using a quantitative approach. The research was conducted in three stages: (1) Development of a 30-hour self-instructional course, including a course plan, lesson plans, scripts, and video lectures, as well as a Student Guide, all hosted on the AVAProex/UFRN platform. The course was organized into four thematic units and offered asynchronously; (2) Validation of the pedagogical content was carried out by seven experts in the fields of nursing, medicine, nutrition, and pedagogy using the Educational Content Validation Instrument in Health, aiming at improvement and future updates; (3) The course was made available on the AVAProex/UFRN platform. Results and discussion: The validation analysis showed that the overall index of the evaluated items objectives, structure, and relevance—was satisfactory, with IVC = 0.83; CVC = 0.94; FVI = 0.87; and Kappa = 0.82, indicating strong agreement among the evaluators. However, the parameters “adequate text size” and “clarifies doubts about the topic” were considered unsatisfactory and were revised to enhance the teaching-learning process. These results demonstrate that the course content is relevant and appropriate for the target audience and learning objectives. Conclusions: The developed course proved to be a relevant educational tool for improving nurses’ qualifications in the care of patients with BSS, meeting pedagogical and technical quality standards. It is recommended that the course be expanded to other health professions and that future studies assess its effectiveness in clinical practice.

Population aging has increased the challenges associated with the care of patients with Alzheimer’s disease (AD), requiring nursing professionals to develop specific competencies to address the clinical, functional, and psychosocial dimensions of this condition. This study aimed to conduct a systematic review of the literature to identify the main nursing interventions directed at older adults with AD, as well as their impacts on quality of life and the management of behavioral and cognitive symptoms. Additionally, an educational booklet was developed based on the critical synthesis of these findings. The literature search was conducted in four databases (PubMed, Scopus, ScienceDirect, and Embase), following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. The methodological quality of the studies was assessed using the Newcastle–Ottawa scale, and data extraction included sample characteristics, type of intervention, outcomes (quality of life, cognitive and behavioral symptoms), and limitations. After the selection process, 15 studies met the eligibility criteria and were included in the systematic review. The results demonstrated that non-pharmacological interventions such as reminiscence therapy, psychosocial support for caregivers, communication strategies, and continuing education programs led by nurses were effective in promoting patients' well-being and reducing caregiver burden. Additionally, structured models of care and the use of assistive technologies showed potential for improving nursing care delivery. It is concluded that nursing plays a fundamental role in the management of AD and that the availability of educational materials may contribute to the standardization of care practices, humanization of assistance, and strengthening of public health policies aimed at the elderly population. Furthermore, the educational booklet developed in this study provides practical guidance applicable to different stages of AD and serves as an accessible tool for improving the quality of care.

Introduction: The integration between the Nursing Process (NP) and Primary Health Care (PHC) represents a fundamental strategy to qualify health care and strengthen nursing performance. NP is a systematized methodology that guides clinical reasoning and decision-making by nurses, allowing for individualized, continuous, and evidence-based care. In PHC, the use of NP contributes to the organization of the nursing team's work, the adequate recording of interventions, and the expansion of professional autonomy, but its implementation still faces challenges, such as gaps in professional training, work overload, and difficulties in using standardized classifications. In this context, strengthening the integration between NP and PHC requires investments that facilitate its practical application and favor the qualification of care centered on the needs of users. It is in this context that software prototypes emerge, an alternative and effective resource whose main contributions are the integration of nursing taxonomies, facilitating clinical reasoning; autonomy in learning, with accessible visual resources and usability; and can promote nursing that is more resolute, critical, and committed to the quality of health care. Objectives: Development and validation of a software prototype for teaching and learning the nursing process in primary health care based on the NANDA-I; NIC and NOC taxonomies. Methodology: This is an applied methodological research, approved by the Ethics Committee of FACISA/UFRN and with technological production of a software prototype, proposed by Pressman and based on the systems development life cycle. The research was applied to PHC nurses from a city in the interior of Rio Grande do Norte. The instrument used to validate the prototype consisted of closed questions, which evaluated the content of the clinical case; usability of the software and teaching methods of learning the cases and based on the three-point Likert Scale; and open questions, whose spaces were reserved for the main contributions of the application to professional practice and suggestions/criticisms for improving it, with the quantitative data obtained being analyzed according to the Content Validation Index (CVI). Results: Validation of the prototype with nurses demonstrated that the tool presented a responsive, intuitive, accessible, easy-to-use, clear, interactive interface that contributes to clinical and educational practice. All items in the prototype obtained CVI averages above 0.90, indicating high agreement by study participants in all criteria analyzed, reinforcing its pedagogical relevance, usability, and potential for practical application to strengthen the integration between the nursing process and primary health care. Final Considerations: At the end of the study, it was found that the objectives were achieved, making it possible to develop and validate a prototype that can enhance and solidify the teaching-learning of the nursing process in primary health care. It also reaffirms the role of educational technologies as allies in the training of more autonomous, critical professionals who are prepared to offer systematized, safe, and effective care to the population.

Objective: To systematize Permanent Health Education (PHE) initiatives for Community Health Agents (CHWs) to reorient practices and strategies for fall prevention among older adults in the PHC setting. Methodology: This is an interventionist, qualitative research study developed through action research. It was conducted in the city of São José do Sabugi, Paraíba. The research targeted CHWs who work in Primary Health Care (PHC) in this municipality. Because this is action research, the methodological approach was systematized according to the interconnected phases that comprise the method. In the Exploratory Phase, CHWs were invited to participate in the study and were informed about the research, its objectives, course, and duration through a meeting/seminar. In this phase, data were collected through an Investigative Questionnaire. In the Planning Phase, the researcher planned the educational actions to be implemented with the CHWs. The Action Phase involved the execution of the planned actions, focusing on three educational meetings through EPS workshops. At the end of this phase, a workshop evaluation instrument was administered. The Evaluation Phase involved data analysis (Investigative Questionnaire and Evaluation Instrument) using simple descriptive statistics. The narrative analysis of the workshops was supported by field diaries and discussions based on related literature. Finally, an illustrative booklet entitled "Fall Risk Prevention and Identification in the Elderly" was created. Results: The Continuing Health Education strategy, conducted using active methodologies and focused on the needs of the region, was effective in improving the knowledge of CHWs about fall prevention, promoting the redefinition of practices in daily work, encouraging the use of tools such as the Elderly Health Handbook (CSPI) to monitor the health of older adults, and strengthening the autonomy of CHWs in developing educational initiatives in the region. Final Considerations: This work contributes significantly to strengthening public health policies, especially regarding older adult care in Primary Care. It also contributes to the advancement of applied scientific knowledge, promoting the integration of practice, teaching, and research in the field of public health and aging.

The perioperative period is a challenging time that is subject to constant change, requiring the healthcare team to pay greater attention to possible errors or adverse events that may occur as a result of the healthcare provided. Therefore, the present study aims to develop and validate an educational booklet for nursing professionals on patient care during the perioperative period. The process of developing the educational booklet consisted of two stages: 1) an integrative review, to collect and select the data that will compose the booklet; 2) a methodological study, with the development of the educational booklet and, finally, validation of the educational material by expert judges. The findings of the integrative review reinforce the complexity of perioperative care and highlight the importance of nurses in all stages of the surgical process. The results of this integrative review demonstrate the relevance of nursing care during the perioperative period, from the preoperative to the postoperative phase. The role of nurses is essential for patient safety, prevention of complications and quality of care. In the preoperative period, the highlights are anamnesis, physical examination, emotional preparation and infection prevention. In the intraoperative period, the nursing team ensures monitoring of vital signs, application of safe surgery checklists and direct assistance to the surgeon and anesthesiologist. In the postoperative period, monitoring in the recovery room, pain control and assessment of the patient's general condition are essential to avoid complications. In addition, effective communication and Systematization of Nursing Care in the Perioperative Period were identified as fundamental strategies to reduce errors and optimize care. As a result of this research, an educational booklet was developed to guide nurses and nursing technicians on best practices in the perioperative period. Structured in eight topics, the booklet will cover everything from the fundamentals of perioperative care to ethical and patient safety aspects, promoting the standardization of conduct and improvement of the care provided. It is concluded that nursing care in the perioperative period is multifaceted and requires ongoing training, comprehensive patient care and evidence-based practices. The importance of continuing education as a basis for ensuring safe and quality care at all stages of the surgical process is reinforced. In this context, the educational booklet emerges as an indispensable teaching resource, promoting continuous and accessible learning. Through a clear and interactive approach, the booklet facilitates the acquisition of essential knowledge, effectively connecting theory and practice. In addition, it acts as a strategic tool for training nursing professionals, contributing to the updating of evidence-based practices and strengthening the skills required for perioperative care.

Considering that it is during adolescence that individuals begin their search for their own sexual expression, as well as free access to information on the internet, which is often inadequate or distorted, it is necessary to prioritize Sexual Health Education (SHE) for adolescents, based on coeducational approaches and considering the capacity for discernment of this group. We can identify, in the literature, schools as the main setting where SHE actions take place today. Health professionals are pointed out as the main sources of evidence-based information in this movement. There are still gaps regarding the inclusion of LGBTQIA+ adolescents and a strong biological, heteronormative and sexist bias in the topics addressed during these actions. Thus, this work aims to construct and validate a collection of activities based on active methodologies, to be applied by health professionals in Primary Health Care, in health education actions for adolescents. To construct the collection, a narrative review was carried out on the Google Scholar platform. The Google Scholar platform was used to search for experience reports because it contains a large number of publications of the experience report type, publications that are not easily found in large journals. The collection included experience reports that described sexual health education activities with adolescents, based on active methodologies. The reports were selected based on the assessment of their replicability in Primary Health Care. The topics covered in the activities that were included in the collection include Puberty, Gender-Based Violence, Inclusive Sexual Education, Prevention of Alcohol and Other Drug Use, as well as Prevention of Unwanted Pregnancy and Sexually Transmitted Infections. After the booklet was created, we proceeded to its validation, which will occur in two modalities: content validation, which will be carried out by PHC professionals, through the Content Validation Index (IVC); and; appearance validation, by other professionals, such as designers, educators, and journalists, through an adaptation of the Suitability Assessment of Materials (SAM) questionnaire.

Addressing chronic degenerative conditions is a critical challenge for public health in Brazil, requiring a holistic and coordinated approach. Care for chronic degenerative conditions is a priority in the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS) due to the high demand for care and the need for early interventions to prevent complications. The objective of this study was to develop and validate an Individualized Care Plan, configured as educational and care technology to strengthen teaching-service integration. The instrument was developed based on a narrative review of the literature, which identified essential components for the care of people with chronic conditions. The validation process took place in two complementary stages. Content validation was performed by professionals and preceptors working at the Seridó Regional Polyclinic, by PHC professionals and preceptors, and by PHC residents in the municipality of Caicó (RN), using the Content Validation Index (CVI). Next, appearance validation was conducted with the same group of professionals and judges from the field of computing, using the Suitability Assessment of Materials (SAM) tool. In both stages, the technical product achieved scores above the minimum required, demonstrating high acceptability and confirming the relevance, clarity, and importance of the items that comprise the instrument. It is concluded that the validated Care Plan has the potential to improve the clinical and educational management of patients with chronic conditions, promoting greater integration between levels of care and strengthening collaborative practices in the territory. It is a technology with the capacity to contribute to improving the care experience, optimizing the work of teams, and, consequently, to the efficiency and sustainability of the health system as a whole.

Introduction: Rural and remote municipalities in Brazil present particularities regarding population characteristics, territorial specificities, and access to health services. About emergency and urgent care, rural populations face severe structural barriers to accessing immediate care, the consequences of which impact the morbidity and mortality profile of this population. Objective: To systematize an educational offering focused on basic life support for initial emergency and urgent care in rural areas, based on the health needs, culture, and experiences of users in rural communities. Methodology: This is an applied research study with a qualitative approach, carried out in two stages: the first stage was to identify the problems related to addressing emergencies and urgent care in rural contexts, and the second was to develop strategies for training professionals and users on initial emergency and urgent care in these territories. The development of the educational offering was guided by the Per-Earl Guide for Developing Educational Materials (PEARL), which seeks greater engagement and cultural adherence within the communities. The research was conducted in rural areas of the municipality of Caicó, in the Seridó region of the state of Rio Grande do Norte. Study participants were health professionals from the Family Health Strategy in the communities and users of health services – residents of the respective communities. Data collection procedures included semi-structured interviews and focus groups. Data were analyzed using categorical thematic analysis. Results: Data analysis allowed for the development of four categories: difficulty of access and dependence on urban areas; changes in morbidity and mortality profiles; popular knowledge in emergencies; and the qualification of professionals and users for emergencies. Based on the data obtained in the first phase of the research and with guidance from PEARL, two technical-educational products were developed: an educational offering for primary health care professionals focusing on initial care for emergencies, and informative videos aimed at users in the rural population. The proposed educational offering for health professionals adopts active, interactive, and learner-centered methodologies, where the topics covered are related to the events that most frequently occur in the rural context. The videos adopted accessible language suitable for distribution through communication apps as a strategy to reach people with information about first aid in life-threatening situations. The educational materials took into account the culture, life and health context, and experiences of rural communities. Final considerations: In the Brazilian rural context, specific training for Primary Health Care (PHC) in rural settings, combined with clear protocols for action and effective integration with regulatory centers and sanitary transport, can strengthen the territorial capacity to respond to critical events, as well as strengthen PHC and its role in improving access and protecting people's lives.

The growing search for humanized approaches in puerperal care has driven the integration of Complementary and Integrative Practices (CIPs) into health services. For their effective application, the training of health professionals is essential, which justifies the development of a structured educational program. In the obstetric context, these practices have demonstrated effectiveness in reducing pain and improving postpartum recovery. This study presents a framework that identifies the benefits and challenges involved in incorporating these techniques into puerperal care, focusing on improving patient experience and optimizing clinical outcomes. This is a mixed-methods study conducted with professionals working in the obstetrics sector of a Maternal and Child Hospital in the Seridó Potiguar region. Data collection was carried out through two questionnaires—one administered before and the other after a training session on the use of CIPs as non-pharmacological methods in puerperal care. The qualitative phase was complemented by observing participants’ perceptions regarding the applicability of these practices and the challenges faced in their implementation. The results revealed an expansion of knowledge and increased awareness among professionals about the importance of comprehensive and humanized care. A positive shift was also observed in the acceptance of and interest in incorporating CIPs into the hospital routine, along with recognition of their benefits for pain relief and maternal comfort. It is concluded that the training significantly contributed to strengthening professional practice and promoting the integration of CIPs in the obstetric setting, fostering more humanized, participatory, and woman-centered care. The study reinforces the importance of continuous educational initiatives and institutional support to consolidate the integration of these practices into puerperal care.
