SKILLS RELATING TO FAMILY AND COMMUNITY MEDICINE: STUDY WITH DOCTORS RESIDING IN THE PARAIBA HISTORY

The main objective of the study was to analyze the perception of doctors living in the backlands of Paraíba regarding skills related to Family and Community Medicine. This is research with a qualitative, descriptive and exploratory approach, developed using the focus group technique with 14 resident doctors from the area of Family and Community Medicine at a private university in the interior of the State of Paraíba. The preliminary information was categorized and analyzed based on the theoretical framework of the Collective Subject Discourse, allowing the construction of four analytical categories to date, namely: Competencies related to family and community medicine; knowledge necessary for clinical practice in primary health care; essential skills for practicing clinical practice in primary health care and fundamental attitudes to clinical practice in community family medicine.
