FOOD AND NUTRITION SECURITY AND ACCESS TO HEALTH SERVICES FOR PEOPLE AFFECTED BY COVID-19 IN THE STATE OF PARAÍBA

Introduction: Coronaviruses belong to a large viral family and have been known for over 60 years to cause respiratory infections in humans and animals. In Brazil, the first case of covid-19 was confirmed on February 26, 2020, in Paraíba, patient zero was identified on March 18 of the same year, being a 60-year-old man, who had returned from Europe, but who resided in João Pessoa. In addition to the high number of confirmed cases, there was a reorganization or discontinuation of routine health services for the population, with interruption of care for people undergoing treatment for chronic diseases, and also, food and nutritional insecurity shows a tendency to greater magnitude. Objective: To investigate the relationship between food and nutrition security and access to health services during the covid-19 pandemic in the state of Paraíba. Methodology: This is an observational, cross-sectional, retrospective and mixed approach research. The first stage of the study will be the construction of a digital questionnaire through the Google Forms platform and data collection will be carried out through the dissemination of the form on social networks, WhatsApp and Instagram, through access to the survey link. The second stage will be to carry out interviews with nutritionists, using a semi-structured script. At this stage, data collection will be carried out using electronic means of communication, using an audio recorder. . The invitation to participate in the research will be carried out through Instagram and subsequent contact by phone to carry out the interview with the interested parties. In both stages, the participant can indicate other possible participants by citing the telephone number, with the recruitment of the first stage ending with the sample range and the second stage with the saturation of responses. Participants in the first stage of the study will be individuals of both sexes, aged between 18 and 60 years, who have been infected by covid-19 during the period from March 2020 to December 2021 and who reside in the territory of Paraíba. In the second stage, nutritionists from Paraíba will participate, who have attended to people affected by covid-19 between the period studied. The project will be submitted for evaluation by the Ethics and Research Committee (CEP) of the Faculty of Sciences of Trairi, according to resolution n⁰ 466/2012 and the research will start after approval by the CEP. . The confidentiality of all data will be ensured, signed from the signing of the Free and Informed Consent Term (FICT). Individuals who participate in the first stage of the research will have access to the TCLE through a Google Forms form, being the first page before having direct access to the questions of the instrument of this research; Nutritionists who are interested in participating in the second stage of the research will sign the informed consent before the beginning of the interview, also through the Google Forms platform, with the file made available through the link via WhatApp. Also, signature of the letter of consent to the Regional Council of Nutritionists (CRN6) will be requested, as a way of authorizing the participation of nutritionists from Paraíba in this research. Expected results and products: It is expected from this research that eating habits and food safety have declined with the advent of the covid-19 pandemic, that access to health services has been guaranteed and resolute during the covid-19 pandemic. , that the socioeconomic levels have declined with the advent of the pandemic in the state of Paraíba, in an equal way to the other states of the federation, that the increase in socioeconomic inequalities has influenced the decline of eating habits and food security and even that nutritionists can bring an overview of the food reality of the population of Paraíba.
