SUMMARY:

Introduction: Continuing health education (PHE) is configured as a proposal for learning in and through work, through which the teaching-learning process is incorporated into daily work with the possibility of transforming professional practices. In this perspective, the Ministry of Health instituted, in 2004, the National Policy for Permanent Education in Health (PNEPS) as a strategy for the training of workers, seeking to articulate qualified initiatives to face the needs of the Unified Health System (SUS). However, the PNEPS has interprofessional work as its central element, as the interaction between the different professions is itself a learning space. This finding could be followed in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic in the municipality of Currais Novos-RN, in which the EPS did not fulfill its role as an important tool in facing this public health problem. Objective: To understand how ESF workers perceive their work as an element of Permanent Education in Primary Health Care (PHC) in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Methodology: This is a qualitative, descriptive and exploratory research that will be carried out with health professionals from a family health team in the municipality of Currais Novos - RN. Data collection will take place through conversation circle meetings to discuss Permanent Education, Work Process and Teamwork in order to produce narratives that can support our discussion. Expected results: It is hoped that with this study we can understand how EPS processes are designed in PHC, as well as awakening in workers and municipal management its importance as a tool for improving Health Care in the municipality of Currais Novos.
