Introduction: Osteoporosis is characterized by a decrease in Bone Mineral Density, contributing to the appearance of fractures, the Assessment of Health related Quality of Life in Osteoporosis questionnaire (ECOS-16) is a tool that aims to measure the quality of life of postpartum women menopause with osteoporosis. The impact of population aging and chronic diseases in Brazil reaffirms the need to develop health actions that guarantee comprehensive care to users, in addition to the need to develop tools that assist in the production of instruments capable of assessing patients' quality of life. Objective: To translate, culturally adapt and test the reproducibility of the Assessment of Health related Quality of Life in Osteoporosis (ECOS-16) questionnaire for Brazil. Methods: First stage: translate into Portuguese and perform the cultural adaptation of ECOS-16. Second stage: reproducibility of the questionnaire for the Brazilian population. Thirty patients over 50 years of age with osteoporosis will be evaluated. The translation will be carried out by two English teachers and its version will be called the Consensual Version (VC), the VC will be submitted to two new versions in English, by two other English teachers, born in English-speaking countries, who will master Portuguese. . The version will be submitted again to the review committee to show semantic equivalence between the original and the VC, making the Final Version (VF) after showing cultural equivalence the VF will be applied to patients. The questions will have to be understood by 80% or more of the interviewees. Third stage: Reproducibility, the VF will be applied at three different times: two on the same day (Evaluator 1) and (Evaluator 2), inter-evaluator evaluation and the third between 7 and 15 days by evaluator 1 (R1-intra-evaluator evaluation). Fourth stage: Constructive Validity, patients will answer the Numerical Pain Scale (END), WOMAC and SF-36 with the ECOS-16.
