SUMMARY:

The present thesis work proposes an investigation of qualitative nature, involving documentary and bibliographical research. The focus of the studyfalls on the Liber Abaci, published in 1202 by Leonardo Pisano, addressing its mathematical, historical and epistemological aspects. This treatiseplayed a prominent role in the introduction and dissemination of Arabic numerals and the positional decimal system in Western Europe from thethirteenth century onwards. commercial and recreational; which have been perpetuated over time in different societies. It was noted that theseproblems present didactic opportunities that can be applied in the teaching of Mathematics. Thus, the following research question was formulated:"How can the practical problems addressed in Liber Abaci be used in the construction of interfaces for the teaching of Mathematics in classroomcontexts in High School?" In order to answer this question, our goal is to conduct a study of the Liber Abaci, in order to select relevant passages tobe used in high school classrooms. The theoretical framework that underlies our research covers the fundamental principles of the Theory of Objectification (OT) that includes didactic, pedagogical and epistemological concepts, as well as the perspective of this theory on the interconnection between the history of mathematics and the teaching practice of this discipline. In addition, our approach incorporates thefundamentals of the Historical Mathematics Text Analysis (ATHM) methodology. The desired result of this study consists in the creation of connections, the interfaces, between History and the Teaching of Mathematics, directed to the context of High School, in order to developapproaches that facilitate the realization of activities that promote joint work and the values of community ethics.
