SUMMARY:

This research is a part the field of history and historiography of mathematics teaching more specifically related to the history of youth and Adult Education (EJA) in the state of Rio Grande do Norte (RN). A historiography was carried out, based on the memory of sixteen EJA Mathematics teachers, observing their knowledge and practices. Our research question is: How was the teaching of Mathematics in the EJA schools in RN in the period between 2020 and 2023?. The general objective of the research is to record a stary about the teaching of Mathematics in EJA of RN (2020 – 2023), whose specifics objectives are: (1) Observe the possible particularities and challenges of the daily life of the EJA of the RN in the teaching of Mathematics; (2) Identify the practices of the teacher who teaches Mathematics in the EJA of RN during and after social isolation in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic; (3) Chick passible challenges in the use of technologies, during the period of remote classes and after this isolation. The research had a qualitative approach, with the intention of observing in detail the different variables involving, mainly those responsible for certain effects. Institutional documents were our sources, including those acquired from the state Department of Education of RN, which guide policies for were testimonials from teachers who work with this teaching modality in the referred network. These testimonies were collected through semi structured interviews, carried out with teachers who were willing to collaborate with this research. In view of what has been exposed, the thesis es that, for EJA Mathematics teachers in RN, the undress tending of the (trans)formation of themselves and their teaching the Covid-19 pandemic as that they (re)acquire technological knowledge for remote classes and reflect on haw to teach and how to help the student learn. As a result, we point out the youth and adult education Mathematics teachers improved their knowledge in the use of technological resources during the period of remote classes. This learning process was necessary due to the absence of a previous organization for the beginning of these activities at a distance. In summary, despite the challenges faced at the beginning of the remote classes in EJA, Mathematics teachers were able to adapt to the new conditions and improve their knowledge in the use of technological resources.
