Theater in the classroom - Development of literary readers through drama texts and the resignification of the reading of "O pagador de promessas", by Dias Gomes.

This work aims to present to Portuguese teachers of Ensino Fundamental, final years, an intervention proposal for the development of literary readers based on the basic sequence of Rildo Cosson presented in his books Letramento Literário_ teoria & prática (2006) e Círculos de leitura e letramento literário (2020). The proposal is structured with strategies of text production through the practice of retextualization. The foundational text for the development of the reader and for the text productions was the theatrical play O Pagador de Promessas, by Dias Gomes. Drama, a genre, underused in textbooks and in Portuguese language classes, presents a structure and language that meets the demand of the proposal: to awaken a taste for literary reading and improve the writing practice of Ensino Fundamental students, final years, through retextualization activities of drama into other genres. The BNCC (2018), especially COSSON (2006) and TERRA (2020), CANDIDO (2011) and COMPAGNON (2009), in addition to readings by BARTHES (1977; 1987), LAJOLO (1982), PERRONE-MOISÉS (2016) and GERALDI (2011), were used for the theoretical contribution.
