This research project aims to check how a proposal of literacy project can become a tool of analysis and criticism of reality. This work intends to associate the need to work the idea of reading as a practice situated in series of the 9th grade of the Elementary School of the EEFM Professor Maria Margarida de Castro Almeida to the need to perform a work of valuing the culture and history in Fortaleza downtown squares. For the development of the project, we will take into account the importance of working with the most diverse textual genres to build a unique conception of reading and new possibilities of action in the world.
