Fuels and biofuels are of great importance in the transport sector, contributing to the economic development. However, their transport, mostly done by pipelines induces corrosion caused by the fuels. The objective of this work was to develop a new synthesis route for the poly (dialyl phthalate) resin, which has excellent anticorrosive properties, to be used as pipeline coating, thus increasing its useful life, and avoiding transport interruption. In this work, this resin was characterized by the scanning electron microscopy (SEM), to analyze its morphology before and after contact with ethanol, gasoline and biofuel. As for the corrosivity tests, the material was subjected to the Salt-Spray process (Salt Mist) and the biodiesel mist. The results showed that poly(dialyl phthalate) protected the steel from the corrosive attack of biodiesel and its morphology was not much affected by prolonged contact with ethanol, gasoline and biodiesel.
