RESUMO:

The bond between metallic and ceramic materials is a complex process because it is a material with physical, chemical (eg chemical bonding, etc.) and dissimilar mechanical properties. The brazing process has been extensively used to join metal / metal, metal / ceramic and ceramic / ceramic pairs. In general, the ceramics present an inefficient condition of wetting by molten metals or alloys, and it will be necessary to intensify the wetting condition of the ceramics, which can be done by means of a previous metallization on the ceramic surface before the thermal cycle for joining the parts indirect) or, then, using addition alloys containing active metals (direct or active brazing). In this work, the main parameters of mechanical metallization were studied in detail in systems containing zirconia, silicon nitride and WC-12Co cermets metallized with titanium, aiming to obtain future joints with less defects, attenuated tensile field reflecting the improvement of the resistance mechanics.
