RESUMO:

In recent years several studies have been developing methods for the modified release of drugs, since when a pharmaceutical agent is encapsulated or coated, the safety of the drug and its effectiveness can be significantly improved, in addition to providing the drug in specific regions of the organism , or simply control the speed of release of the same, prolonging its action. Thus, the development of controlled drug delivery systems using nano-scale mechanisms to treat diseases in a punctual manner, reducing side effects, has also been expanded. For the technological innovation of the pharmaceutical industry, nanomaterials have been receiving great attention, and in this scenario, zeolitic materials, because they have well-defined pore and cavity characteristics, cation exchange capacity, functionalization or storage of molecules with specific size and properties, have large applicability as excipients, insofar as they have important characteristics for the carrier, transport, storage, optical and thermal stability and to confer property of controlled release of drugs, preventing overdoses. Thus, the main scientific objective of this project is the formulation of hybrid nanomaterials through the interaction between several classes of zeolites and several types of drugs with different characteristics, in order to determine all the properties, limitations and, above all, advantages of the technological application and industrial use of zeolitic materials as excipients in the medicaments, thus improving treatment and efficiency in curing diseases, advances in the application of nanomaterials, and in the production and efficacy of drugs.
