RESUMO:

The concern with the environment is increasingly notorious due to the consequences entailed by the lack of care for the same. This is causing damage to the planet. The focus of this study was to analysis one of the pollutants in the textile industry, dye. To solve or minimize the damage caused by pollution of these dyes, we studied a way to adsorb it. Adsorption is a technique that utilizes the ability of a solid (adsorbent) to remove substances (adsorbate) present in a solution. Several materials used with absorbents but this work we used chitosan, which is a polymer obtained by deacetylation of chitin, a polysaccharide found in the exoskeleton of crustaceans. Chitosan was the adsorbent used for removing the textile dye Blue Bezaktiv. In this context, a dye solution was made from 100 ppm, which was adsorbed by an amount specified chitosan. For this study, some technical characteristics of both the adsorbent as the adsorbate were made. They were characterized by X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Infrared, Thermogravimetry (TG) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). In the characterizations, we analyzed the time of saturation of chitosan with respect to the dye. For this we fix the dye concentration, the mass of chitosan, the temperature and pH of all solutions at 6, and analyzing aliquots of 30 in 30 minutes for a period of 4h. After 90 minutes, we observed that there was saturation. We also analyzes varying pH (4,6,8,10 and 12) using the saturation time and also varies the amount of chitosan (0,025, 0.005, 0.1, 0.2, 0.4g). These analyzes were made in the visible ultraviolet, and stirred at 200rpm. It was observed that chitosan is quite effective for adsorbing the dye in the study. In just 90 minutes, at pH 6, it almost totally adsorbed the dye, showing to be a promising material for the study in question.
