teaching work; indigenous school education; school physical education; critical interculturality; decolonial education.
In Brazil, studies on teaching work in physical education are guided by different perspectives. In this context, the epistemology of practice is highlighted. However, such studies treat the topic in a limited way, to the detriment of a broader perspective to understand this category of work. Added to this, these studies are markedly based on contexts of the majority society, therefore, not considering minority societies, as in the case of indigenous schools, where teaching work in physical education also takes place. It is against this panorama that this research is focused and, therefore, the general objective of this study is to understand the teaching work of Physical Education teachers in indigenous schools of the Gavião People of the Mãe Maria Indigenous Land/PA, in view of the basic principles of School Education Indigenous. As a methodological path followed, this investigation was based on the type of explanatory study, through field research, with a qualitative approach. Regarding the processes and techniques for collecting information, participant observations of the teaching work of the group of teachers were carried out, guided by a participant observation script; semi-structured interviews with the group of teachers, guided by a semi-structured interview guide; analysis of institutional documents; in addition to photographic images of Physical Education classes. With the information collected, we proceeded with the triangulation analysis process. As for the results of the information collected, in advance, it is worth informing that these are still in the analysis process, and for this reason, they will not be included in this version of the work.
