PHYSICAL EDUCATION IN THE NEW HIGH SCHOOL: THE IMPORTANCE OF PARTICIPATORY PLANNING IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE SCHOOL CURRICULUM
School Physical Education, New High School, Participatory Planning
The New High School guidelines introduce changes in school physical education, it is imperative to readjust the classroom methodology and especially in planning, as we have to validate our place in the school. The construction of a unified and participatory curriculum was our proposal to face this challenge. The population consisted of 120 high school students, from the 1st and 2nd year classes, and the team of teachers from the Berilo Wanderley State School in the year 2022. To obtain the results, a questionnaire and meetings were chosen for the students where participatory planning was carried out, and for teachers, semi-structured interviews and planning meetings were sent via the internet. With the return of the questionnaires, and the validation of participatory planning by students and teachers, we started the interventions that showed that it is a strategy that can provide many gains when implemented in the school: improvement of adherence to classes, reduction of evasion, and interest were important points.
