The presence of women in the various sectors of society is a recent conquest. The struggle for space within the sports, academic, political, employment, and other fields is something that, despite the advances, must still be widely discussed. Taking as a reference the participation of women in the sports field, considering soccer as an important social constructor of the Brazilian society; women and their constant fight for space in this and other fields and the university as an institution that plays an important role in overcoming social exclusions, this research had as a general objective to analyze the pedagogical projects and the curricular menus of the public federal universities of the northeast that deal with the curricular component soccer, looking for mentions to the soccer content of women. This is a qualitative research with a documental analysis method. Among the nine northeastern states, we found 18 federal universities, six of which do not have a physical education course. In the institutions that do have the course, in general, there is a difference between the presentation and availability of their pedagogical projects and curricula, as well as outdated documents. Regarding the researched content - women's soccer - no direct mention to the exact term was found, but, indirectly, mentions to the words woman and feminine were found in some moments in the pedagogical projects, mainly in the bibliographic references and in the curricular menus. In view of the insufficient presence of the term, or of related terms, and taking into account the growing increase in the practice of the modality, it was possible to realize the need to reformulate the pedagogical projects of physical education courses in universities in order to include and update the contents that help in the formative process of teachers considering the current context, such as, for example, the insertion of women's soccer in the discipline of soccer (and in other necessary ones).
