SUMMARY:

The usual development of a child follows a progressive and standardized rhythm, with variations that depend on countless factors (intrinsic and extrinsic). The development of children with special needs (CSN) can be affected due to a transient or permanent condition that interferes with their normal development. General Objective: to summarize the effects of psychomotor intervention (PI) on psychomotor and affective/social development in children with special needs (CSN). Method: this is a systematic review that followed the guidelines and recommendations of the preferred reporting items for systematic review and meta-analysis (PRISMA). The construction methodological course consists of articles published on the subject from 1970 to 2021, to add evidence, evaluating the consistency of psychomotor intervention programs (PIP) proposed for this audience.
