SUMMARY:

In Brazil, studies on adherence have found that approximately 70% of people who start a physical activity program in gyms do not continue to perform activities. A structured physical activity program requires commitment to changes in habits, a fact that can hinder adherence to training. It is well established in the literature that practicing physical activity in adequate quantity and intensity can reduce the risks of the appearance and development of chronic-degenerative diseases, including osteoporosis and osteoarthritis, the practice of physical activity also provides psycho-emotional health, controlling traces of anxiety, depression and improves indicators related to quality of life. Thus, our objective was to assess the impact of gym practices on adherence and adherence and its impact on the well-being of UFRN's employees with osteomioarticular problems. Seven civil servants from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) participated in the study, aged between 33 and 68 years, 04 men and 03 women. Adherence and adherence were assessed based on the frequency of the servers at weekly meetings. Well-being was assessed after content analysis where the instrument for building the corpus was the culmination of this phase of the project. Among the findings related to the repercussions on improving well-being, we can mention; improvement in quality of life, improvement in physical well-being such as, reduction of pain and improvement in functionality, mental well-being where decreased anxiety and social well-being were reported, in the intergenerational integration to the group. Thus, we can affirm that the bodily practices of gyms have a positive impact on the well-being of UFRN servers.
