SUMMARY:

In this study, we seek to deepen the understanding of the wise, aesthetic, ontological body and sensitive in the field of Physical Education, thus aiming to expand our horizons of perception in relation to this knowledge, therefore, we emphasize the expression creator of the artist Carlos Sérgio Borges. To achieve this perception in the anchor in the philosophical bases of Merleau-Ponty, which elevate our condition of human, as beings of existence, that we are, undivided, that we are intertwined with biological, cultural and historical world, considering our contingency as incarnate beings. In an attempt to contribute so as to favor in the construction of freer bodies, less incarcerated, by linear visions, still so present in Physical Education, breaking rigid barriers, we set as objective expand the concept of the body as a source of knowledge, sensitive, wise and aesthetic, and what this knowledge has to add to Physical Education. In the investigation of this objective we follow in the phenomenological understanding of body guided by Merleau- Ponty based on qualitative research, since, as it is a perception of the phenomenon, it will never be based on a closed logic, imbued by conceptions inert. And for that, we give ourselves to the phenomenon, in order to perceive from the lived experiences, considering the reduction, paying attention to a description detached from rigid yet reflexive explanations, attentive to new perspectives, apprehending new senses and meanings by this transcending body. Thus, we use for this purpose, a network of meanings composed of several elements in together with the referenced readings, which fertilized this study by subsidizing our reflections
