SUMMARY:

Introduction: There is a need for specific measures to restore health in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). This metabolic condition grows increasingly in adolescents and adults in which poor eating habits and physical inactivity aggravate the disease, causing a decrease in self-esteem, quality of life, psychological disorders, thus reducing physical and mental health. Lifestyle interventions (diet and exercise) modify symptoms and are considered the main non-pharmacological treatment. Thus, the moderate to intense resistance training protocol and the detraining; Objective: To analyze body composition and muscle strength in women with Sop, undergoing intervention with training and strength. Method: The recruitment was performed at Januário Cicco Maternity School, and via SIGAA, where they performed laboratory and imaging tests to confirm the diagnosis. Inclusion criteria are women with normal renal and hepatic function who have not used medications that interfere with hormonal and / or metabolic dosages for at least 3 months, aged 16 to 40 years and with a higher body mass index (BMI). or equal to 18.5 kg / m² and less than 40 kg / m². The sample was recruited and divided into 3 groups: intervention group and 2 control groups. The intervention lasted 12 weeks with 36 sessions of supervised strength training interventions and the control groups had unsupervised lifestyle counseling. Pre - intervention and detraining tests include measures of body composition (DEXA), Maximum Force Assessment by Dynamometer (hand grip and shoulder grip). Results: This study aims to demonstrate the effectiveness of moderate to intense resistance training in order to improve the adverse effects of the syndrome. The primary outcome for this trial is to measure improvements in body composition and strength; change in symptoms and after response to exercise and check how they behave in detraining. Secondary outcomes include analysis of detraining and its possible causes in body composition, muscle strength of women with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. Leg BMD of women with PCOS and intervention significantly increased gain with and even when there was detraining decreased. The column values that do not have PCOS have much higher BMD values than those in women who had intervention and those who were not submitted. Regarding the pelvis, a significant BMD elevation was achieved with strength training, but those without PCOS, and the control group without intervention had the lowest values. In total value BMD who does not have SOP has the above value. And those who have PCOS and have not trained have the lowest values yet. Android and ginoid rates are very high in women with PCOS resulting in cardiovascular risk and metabolic syndrome Mineral bone content and higher in women who do not have sop in all value indices. Fat free we have the lowest value in women without PCOS. The strength increases with training and in the detraining reduction. Conclusion: The present study showed that strength training has an interesting effect on body composition and strength measurements of women with PCOS.
