RESUMO:

INTRODUCTION: The maintenance of healthy movement behaviors, since adolescence, provides psychophysiological benefits considered as predictors of health status for adult life. Based on the study of these behaviors, international scientific entities disseminate recommendations for the maintenance and prevention of health. Despite these recommendations, despite these recommendations it is possible to verify a growing change in habits and consequent noncompliance of these behaviors at earlier ages that can lead to overweight and obesity in adolescence. OBJECTIVE: To demonstrate the behavior of movement over 24 hours and the levels of health related physical fitness of overweight adolescents. METHODS: Cross-sectional study involving 34 adolescents (age: 16.1 ± 1.5 years, fat percentage: 36.9 ± 4.9), male. Body composition analysis was performed through DXA, monitoring of activities related to physical activity (PA), sleep and sedentary behavior (CS) were monitored and recorded through the accelerometer (GT3X + Actigraph®). VO2 peak was verified by incremental test in cycle ergometer indirectly, lower limb strength was verified by vertical jump with countermovement (SV) and manual grip strength (PM) was measured by manual dynamometry. Student t test of a sample was used to compare the values collected with the reference values proposed in the guidelines, in addition to the Pearson and Spearman correlation to verify the relationship between the variables. A p-value <0.05 was adopted as statistical significance. RESULTS: 41% (n = 14) of the adolescents did not comply with any of the recommendations for movement behavior, however they did not present a statistical difference in the health indicators compared to the individuals who performed at least one of the proposed recommendations (p> 0 , 05). In addition, it was verified that the physical fitness indicators were negatively related to the percentage of body fat (VO2 peak: rs = -0.55, p = 0.001 and SVC: rs = -0.63, p <0.001). It was verified that sedentary behavior has a strong negative relationship with sleep duration (rs (34) = -0.68, p <0.001). Adolescents who fulfilled the recommendation for AFMV had a strong positive correlation with PM (rs (20) = 0.60, p = 0.005). CONCLUSION: Obese adolescents who comply with the recommended amount of AFMV demonstrate a direct relationship with manual grip strength. There is still an inverse relationship between the time spent in sedentary behavior and sleep duration regardless of compliance or not with the guideline. Finally, respiratory capacity and lower limb strength are directly negatively influenced by body fat.
