BIG AREA: Ciências da Saúde
AREA: Enfermagem
SUMMARY:

Nursing continuously provides health care 24 hours a day, often faced with a shortage of
supplies and precarious working conditions. Professionals dedicate themselves to a
weekly workload of 30-40 hours and, in some situations, maintain more than one
employment relationship. These facts linked to the shift regime highlight and intensify
the tiring routine and conflicts in interpersonal-professional relationships. This has
repercussions on biological and psychological dimensions, increasing occupational
illnesses that are largely neglected by professionals. The recognition that occupational
exposure to risks occurs through the professional's interaction with the work
environment, will enable nurses to develop and adopt preventive thinking, in order to
implement strategies to reduce or even eliminate the potential risks of occupational
injury. . This study aims to develop a Middle Range Theory for diagnosing
Occupational Injury Risk. This is a methodological study, operationalized according to
the model proposed by Lopes and Silva (2016), to develop a Medium-Range Theory for
diagnosing Occupational Injury Risk. Which propose six stages, which are respectively:
Definition of the approach to constructing the Medium Range Theory; definition of the
theoretical-conceptual models to be analyzed; definition of main concepts; development
of a pictorial scheme; construction of propositions; and establishing causal relationships
and evidence for practice. This study is expected to clarify the survey of a theoretical
gradient with the potential to review the Nursing Diagnosis in NANDA International,
raising its level of evidence from 2.1 to 2.1.2. As well as, describe the case and predict
the phenomenon, in order to understand in a global magnitude the risks that may
threaten the safety and health of the worker, to attribute visibility to an individual
beyond the patient and companion, in this case, the professional of nursing.
