KEY WORDS:

Educational Technology; Nursing; Nursing Care; Pressure Ulcer

PAGES: 11
BIG AREA: Ciências da Saúde
AREA: Enfermagem
SUMMARY:

Introduction: Traditionally, professional training in the health sector follows a biological and hospital-centric model. Therefore, overcoming this model is a current challenge. The category of games that aim to learn are called serious games. These are capable of producing motivation, as well as generating strong user engagement, through their dynamic, responsive and visual nature. The treatment of pressure injuries is caused by nursing care, therefore teaching is necessary. In the context of nursing, the treatment and prevention of pressure injuries must be linked to a multidisciplinary approach, since the patient must be assessed in a holistic, therefore, the nurse must be included in this process. Objective: Develop a serious game as an educational tool about pressure ulcers for undergraduate nursing students. Methodology: This is a study to be carried out in two stages, the first being a descriptive study with a qualitative approach and the second an applied and methodological research with a technological focus. In the first stage, the knowledge and difficulties of undergraduate nursing students regarding the care of patients with pressure injuries will be identified, through a descriptive study carried out with nursing students at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. Recruitment will be carried out through the student roll call. The researchers will clarify the objectives and importance of the research, students who agree to participate will confirm with the ICF expressing their consent. Afterwards, the questionnaire will be implemented, which will address questions containing sociodemographic data and open questions about students' knowledge and difficulties in learning about pressure injuries. The results obtained in this stage will support the stage of creating the content that will be used in the development of the educational software, which will result in the construction of the serious game. In the second stage, the development and evaluation of the serious game will be carried out, for this purpose, educational software will be developed based on the following phases: conception, elaboration, finalization and feasibility. For the design phase, initially a scoping review of the literature will be carried out in order to map the content on pressure injuries that will make up the questions and answers of the serious game. In the elaboration phase, the development of the functional prototype of the serious game will be carried out, based on meetings that will determine the technology that will be adopted, the elaboration of initial versions and the monitoring and adjustments of the elements. Judges from the area of dermatology nursing will be invited to evaluate the content, who have experience in wound care or have been researchers in the area for at least two years. The evaluation of technical and pedagogical aspects will be carried out by computer engineering professionals, who have practical experience in programming educational software. The judges will be selected intentionally through analysis of the curriculum, on the Lattes Platform of the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq). To conclude, computer engineering professionals will create documents on the development of the software and a manual for users. In the feasibility phase, the game, in its final version, will be implemented on digital platforms. Initial monitoring will also be carried out to identify possible errors. This research will only begin after obtaining approval from the Research Ethics Committee of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, in compliance with resolution No. 466 of 2012 of the National Research Ethics Council. Expected results: It is hoped that this study will result in a useful product, with validated content that can contribute to the innovation of nursing education, helping to understand aspects related to pressure injuries.
