SUMMARY:

Managing care is an inherent practice for nurses and is fundamental to supporting the quality of their care. In this sense, leadership is one of the crucial skills for success in nurses' work practice. The World Health Organization and the United Nations launched the Nursing Now Challenge program in 2018, which aims to address the shortage of nursing professionals and encourage the implementation of programs that promote the recognition, appreciation and employability of these professionals. In Brazil, the main goal is to invest in strengthening the education and development of Nursing professionals with a focus on leadership. In view of the above, the study is justified by the need to evaluate the effect of an online educational module for Nursing students, on the topic of leadership, stimulating this skill that is essential for the full practice of nurses, since graduation. This will be an experimental study, of the randomized clinical trial type, to be carried out in two stages: content validation by judges, selected via the Lattes platform, and application of the educational module. The first stage will be carried out by six judges. In the second stage, students will be randomly distributed into an experimental group, which will have intervention through a technological tool, and a control group, which will receive a standard intervention consisting of an expository class. The inclusion criteria will be: being an undergraduate Nursing student; and, be enrolled or have taken the Health Services Management discipline in the undergraduate Nursing course at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. The exclusion criteria will be: not participating in all phases of the research; and have studied the Health Services
Management discipline at another institution. The data will be analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The research will be carried out at the Nursing Department of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, in Natal, capital of the state of Rio Grande do Norte. In compliance with Resolution 466/2012, which defines the guidelines and regulatory standards for research involving human beings, this project will be submitted for analysis by the Research Ethics Committee of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, and will only be initiated after a favorable opinion. It should be noted that this research will provide indirect benefits for participants, as it will expand knowledge about leadership. Thus, based on the results obtained, actions/interventions can be developed that promote more effective learning about leadership, providing the student with greater knowledge and increased safety on the subject, training nurses capable of promoting an efficient and collaborative work environment, optimizing results achieved in patient care and contributing to the success of the healthcare institution as a whole.
